Year 3 Shapes Worksheets | Printable PDFs

Year 3 Shape worksheets for Year 3 Maths (Key Stage 2). Pupils aged 7–8 develop their understanding of both 2D and 3D shapes. They learn to recognise, name and describe shapes using properties such as the number of sides, vertices, faces and edges. Pupils practise drawing 2D shapes and identifying 3D shapes in different positions and orientations. They also begin to use more precise mathematical vocabulary, including horizontal, vertical, parallel and perpendicular lines.

Students are also introduced to angles as a measure of turn. They learn to recognise a right angle and understand that two right angles make a half turn, three make a three-quarter turn and four make a full turn. They compare other angles with a right angle, deciding whether they are greater than or less than 90°, and use these ideas to describe and classify different shapes.
