Year 7 Averages worksheets for year 7 maths, or class 7. Children in year 7 are age between 11 and 12. Students in year 7 learn how to find the mean, median and the mode. The mean average is calculated by adding all the values and dividing by the number of values there are. The median is the middle value when the data is arranged in order and the mode is the value that appears most often. In the data set 4, 2, 8, 6, 2, 2, the mean is 4 because (4 + 2 + 8 + 6 + 2 + 2) ÷ 6 = 24 ÷ 6 = 4. The mode is 2 because this value appears the most.
The median is 3 because when the numbers are put in order, 2, 2, 2, 4, 6, 8, 2 and 4 appear in the middle, add them together and divide by 2, the middle number is 3.
