Year 8 Coordinates worksheets for Year 8 Maths (Key Stage 3). Students aged 12–13 learn to plot and interpret coordinates in all four quadrants. A quadrant is one of the four sections of a coordinate grid, created by the x-axis and y-axis. Students progress from basic plotting to more complex coordinate problems.
For example, some students will be able to map coordinates on to a 3D coordinate grid. A 3D coordinate grid uses three coordinates (x, y, z) to show the position of a point in three-dimensional space. The x-axis shows left and right, the y-axis shows forwards and backwards, and the z-axis shows up and down.
